Jacques De Munck, composer and multi-instrumentalist, was born in a family of professional musicians. He spent years in Africa where he gained experience with ethnic instruments and types of music.
After he returned to Belgium he became a professional musician and went into world music. That’s how he learnt to play various instruments such as: the bouzouki, the dzoura, the baglama (Greek instruments), the lute, the African ballophone, kora and kalimba, the Caribbean steeldrums and even the Indian sitar.
He does a lot of research into the origin and use of instruments with different peoples and studies various types of music with an open mind. Being a perfectionist he does his own recordings in his own recording studio. He has recorded many albums.
